As Chief Operating Officer, Ed Murn is responsible for direct oversight of operations, accounting, strategic planning, and asset management. He also helps run the property management arm of the company and plays a vital role in development and acquisitions/dispositions.

Mr. Murn is a veteran real estate executive with over 30 years in the industry. Prior to joining Washington Property Company, he was Managing Director of the Residential Division and Head of Development at Elme Communities (formerly Washington Real Estate Investment Trust). Before working at Elme, Mr. Murn led development at Tower Companies and Kettler Inc. Earlier in his career, Mr. Murn was Director of Acquisitions & Development at Archstone Smith Trust and Director of Capital Markets for Charles E. Smith Realty Trust.

Mr. Murn holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from The Johns Hopkins University as well as a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond. Mr. Murn Murn’s family has been involved in real estate for several generations in Maryland. He currently resides in McLean, Virginia, with his wife and three children.
